An elegant, textural Pinot noir from Savigny-Les-Beaune, a beautiful appellation whose various exposures bring great richness and remarkable diversity to its wines.
The "Petits Liards" vineyard lies near the entrance to the village at the foot of the premier crus sites on a foundation of clay-limestone soils. The fruit is harvested by hand and triaged on the sorting table before destemming. Fermentation is takes place in open vats over 20 days, with a daily hand plunging. Once complete, the wine is gently pressed to barrel (20% new) for 13 months in the estate's cellar.
This wine is intensely perfumed with ripe black fruits and hints of earth and wild herbs. On the palate, fine tannins and fresh acidity contribute to elegant texture. Isabelle describes this wine as "a noble and seductive terroir-druveb wine, characterized by a persistence on the palate worthy of the greatest wines." We couldn't agree more.
