Meursault 1er Cru 'Le Poruzot' 2020
Meursault 1er Cru 'Le Poruzot' 2020
Pure fruit, vibrant acidity and deft winemaking bring harmony to this textural, full-bodied Chardonnay from one of Burgundy's premiere white appellations.
Hand-picked, the grapes are pressed, then racked in temperature-controlled tanks for 24 hours. No artificial yeasts added, exclusively indigenous yeasts to maintain the typicity of the terroir and of the vintage. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels (30% new) followed by 15-18 months of maturation on lees.
Unmistakably Meursault, the nose offers a medley of ripe lemon, yellow nectarine, tangy pineapple along with savoury hints of toasted brioche and fresh hazelnuts. The palate is full-bodied and textural. But where some Meursault run fat, Vincent’s ‘Le Poruzot’ remains vibrant with bright acidity to balance this wine’s concentrated fruit and glycerol mouthfeel. The finish is long, elegantly rounded out with notes of peach and marzipan.
