Extra Brut 1er Cru NV

A new addition to the Brochet-Dolet stable, the Extra Brut presents a drier, more linear offering with a dosage of 4g/l. The blend comprises 80% Pinot Noir, 10% Meunier and 10% Chardonnay. The inherent richness of the Pinot Noir dominated cuvée complements the lower dosage. Like the Brut Tradition, the final cuvée contains a proportion of reserve wine to ensure consistency in style and quality. The wines ages for at least 2 years on lees.

White gold in the glass with a fine-beaded effervescence. The nose is delicately perfumed with tart red berries, white nectarine and apple blossom. With time in the glass, more savoury aromas develop, giving notes of biscuit, pastry and river stone. The palate is marked by a harmonious balance of vivacious acidity, white fruits and a resounding savoury richness. The mousse is light through the mouth, giving way to a long saline finish that entices you to take the next sip.

The Extra Brut is a more modern style of champagne that trades in the roundness of the Brut for a leaner, more mineral expression. A perfect accompaniment for oysters and seafood dishes. And when the season is right, it’s racy acidity also sees it well-matched with pasta and fresh truffles.
