Sélection 1er Cru Brut Millésime 2014

A champagne millésimé, the Sélection is produced in exceptional years from a single harvest. This wine showcases the highest quality fruit from the 2014 vintage. The cuvée contains 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. The wine is aged for at least 4 years on lees. A slightly drier style than the Brut Tradition NV, this wine has a dosage of 8g/l.

The wine is pale lemon in colour with an energetic bead. The nose opens with layers of fragrant orchard fruits, red berries and aromas of white blossom. Time in the glass gives aromas of sable biscuits, toasted almonds and a salty minerality. The palate is lively and elegant, with fresh acidity and a creamy mousse. Ripe strawberry, nashi pear and red apples provide balance to richer characters of brioche, hazelnuts and candied citrus.

Quality fruit and careful winemaking yield an elegant wine with ripe fruit character and beautifully integrated autolytic flavour without sacrificing refreshing acidity. The resulting wine gives fantastic breadth with brightness.
